Christmas Games
When the holidays are approaching, there is a lot to look forward to. This includes giving and receiving presents and getting a few days off from work. Christmas also means attending parties and looking forward to good food, drinks and socialization. If you are the one throwing the party, then you want to do your best in bringing out the holiday spirit in everyone. Aside from supplying the food, decorations and coming up with a guest list, you also need to provide entertainment. The last thing you want is for your guests to leave early in search of another party because they got bored with yours.
Planning some Christmas games and having the guests actively participate will ensure that they have a good time. There are lots of ideas for games that you can come up with. Most of these can be normal games that everyone is familiar with; just give the game a Christmas twist or theme. Trivia questions are fun and can easily be made into a holiday game. Just have guests answer questions like “Where does Santa live?” or “How many elves does Santa have?”
You can also have a simple game of horseshoes. To add a Christmas element to the game, just use candy canes in place of horseshoes. If you have a venue that is large enough, you can include a scavenger hunt. Have the guests look for Christmas-related items such as mistletoes and ornament balls.
No Christmas party is complete without a white elephant gift exchange. For this game to run smoothly, have guests bring a wrapped gift. Inform guests ahead of time that the present should be gender neutral and fall within a set price range. A white elephant is a good game to end the party with an exclamation point.
Christmas games give parties a more relaxed atmosphere. It gets a little adrenaline going and sets the mood for the duration of the event. In addition, games encourage interaction, so that guests get an opportunity to mingle and meet other people in attendance. If you are throwing a party this holiday, make it complete with some fun games for everyone to enjoy.
